Welcome

Etesen! I am Afryea Williams I am 13 years old. I am in the 8th grade and I live in Richmond Virginia.
I love to do Afrikan dancing, listening to music, and doing hair.  I love AYA and all my teachers and classes and I love learning about my people and myself.

Khepra and Upwat Writing class.

Key Learning.
My key learning was learning about both sides of the civil rights movement.
Nonviolent resistance which is sit-ins and demonstrations.
And Resistance by any means necessary which is the Black Panther Party and The Deacons of Defense.

Most Enjoyable.
I enjoyed when we debated about what side we would be on for the
civil rights movement. I was on the resistance by any means necessary team. And we WON!

My Best Work:

Argumentative Essay

Melanin Mastery.
Key Learning
I learned about Allomelanin and how it is melanin in plants.
And all the dark fruits are rich in allomelanin.

Most Challenging

I found it challenging when we had our final exam.
It was hard and it was almost like a riddle you had to figure out the pieces to get the final answer.

My Best Work:

Melanin a Superconductor

African Writers and Publishers.

Key Learning.

I learned about kdp which is kindle direct publishing.
If I wanted to sell my book on Amazon I would need a kdp,
To get my book out to the public.

Most Challenging.

What I find challenging is just taking the time out of my day to write my book.
And to stay focused on my book. So I can complete it and get it out on the market.

This is awesome! Super proud of you! Im a writer and I have published two books through Infinity Self Publishing company they are not black owned but they do give you freedom of expression over your creativity. You may want to research black owned publishing houses as well. Good job AfryeaπŸ₯°πŸ™πŸ½❤πŸ–€πŸ’š

Well Done!!! Your expressions were informative, insightful, and thought-provoking. I learned a lot! As I was thinking about the role of melanin in the speed of processing electrical impulses, you indicated its role in the myelin sheath… When I first saw the title of your book, I thought you were going to take us on a journey exploring "that the source of our dreams is dreams themselves." Nevertheless, I look forward to reading about the uncompromising spirit of "Dream" to restore her reputation and affirm her dream--By any means necessary! Keep up the critical thinking!!!

Greetings Afryea, Thank you for bringing your voice. You have analysed the situation and brought a point of view that we don't always get to hear. It's critical that we hear and listen to your voice. You are the future. I look forward to seeing that book and many more. Your images are wonderful and most of all it deals with young people working through value issues. Congratulations !!
Continued success in the next phase of your education.
